As a working person`s newspaper, I am surprised you haven`t taken notice of the pickets diligently protesting the Michigan Ave. Marriott Hotel`s use of non-union labor in their renovation project.
In addition to being non-union painters, electricians, carpenters and tile-setters, the workers and their contractor are from another state. This is of no help to the Illinois economy.
To me, these people walking the picket line are doing it for all of us to hold our jobs and be paid a decent wage.
