Regarding Hy Wallace`s comments about the U.S. Postal Service:
”Everyone” is not always criticizing the organization. In fact, according to some recent polls, the majority of the American people feel it is doing a decent job. If Mr. Wallace reads anything newsworthy, he would know the reason the Postal Service no longer makes pickups from mailboxes on Sunday is because of budget cuts.
Recently, Congress allowed President Bush and his budget director, Richard Darman, to withdraw approximately $8 million from the Postal Service`s operating budget and use that money to help balance the federal budget.
Americans enjoy the lowest postage rates in the industrialized world, not to mention the most competent service. My advice to Mr. Wallace is to quit whining about not having a mailbox in his backyard and get a life!
