The Jan. 30 Tempo column by Harlene Ellin was an apt commentary on her peers and her parents` generation in contrast.

Unfortunately, this ”burnout” syndrome carries into their personal lives, as well. One marriage in a lifetime? No way! One set of children in a lifetime? I should say not!

Her generation has no sense of responsibility to anyone or any institution, be it employer, the firm, the customers, the spouse, the offspring, certainly not to the parents who enabled them to feel secure.

The single focus is on themselves, and that is what is so truly

”borrring!”
