George E. Connelly, 58, an assistant professor of philosophy at Loyola University of Chicago for 30 years and president of the Rogers Park Community Council, died Wednesday in Edgewater Hospital. Mr. Connelly received his bachelor`s degree from Loyola and his doctorate from St. Louis University. He joined the Loyola faculty in 1961 after being an instructor at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne; three sons, John, Mark and Matthew; two daughters, Anne and Catherine; his mother;
and a grandchild. A memorial mass for will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 6559 N. Glenwood Ave.
