Joseph Steininger, 86, founder of a Morton Grove steel parts
manufacturing company, died Thursday in Sarasota, Fla. A St. Louis native, Mr. Steininger founded Sko-Die Inc. in 1947 and was president until he retired in 1986. Mr. Steininger is survived by his wife, Irene; a son,Richard; a daughter, Joan Evans; two sisters; a brother; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Services will be private.
