Sheryl Hodges, a home economist with the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service in Aledo, is one of 50 women being honored in New York Wednesday by Tambrands Inc. for aiding the environment. Hodges convinced residents to donate the leftover house paint they otherwise would toss in the trash so that 25 volunteers could use the dozens of colors to spruce up a building at the Mercer County fairground. A $1,000 award will go to the school of Hodges` choice, Westmer Elementary in New Boston.
