Kaneland sectional-Top-seeded Wheaton St. Francis jumped out to a 12-2 lead just five minutes into the semifinal against cold-shooting Richmond-Burton and went on to a 62-43 victory.
St. Francis (28-2) had four players in double figures, led by Jennie Driscoll (16) and Susanne Mauch and Laurie Keane (12 apiece).
After watching his team shoot just 17 percent in the regional title game against Kaneland, coach Dave Angerer was happy to see his squad go 23 for 48 from the floor, including 4 for 7 from three-point range.
