Peter J. Kalmes, 79, a retired businessman, died Monday in Resurrection Nursing Pavillion, Park Ridge. Mr. Kalmes was the founder and owner of the Central Adhesive Corp., a manufacturer of construction materials. He founded the company in 1948, and retired when he sold the firm in 1984. Born in Skokie, Mr. Kalmes was a longtime resident of Park Ridge. Survivors include a son, Peter; three daughters, Kelly, Laura Maleski and Mary Thompson; three grandchildren; four brothers; and four sisters. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 144 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge.
