Helene A. Alschuler, 78, a community activist in Highland Park, died Thursday in Jamaica. Mrs. Alschuler, a 1935 graduate of the Sargent School of Physical Education in Boston, was honored recently as one of the outstanding graduates of Sargent College of Boston University. She was involved in establishing the Highland Park Nursery School. More recently, she had been active with the Girl Scouts and with teaching folk dancing and water exercise. Survivors include her husband, Alfred; three sons, Alfred, Lawrence and Arthur; a daughter, Aryn; a brother; and five grandchildren. Services will be private.
