The Feb. 7 letter from Robin L. Braun really got my goat. To quote one sentence: ”Humans have always eaten, worn and generally used about every part of every animal in the planet.” That`s a known fact. And at the present stage of civilization it is no longer necessary for humans to exploit animals in order to survive.
Resorting to name-calling (”bunny huggers”) is indicative of Robin Braun`s mentality. Only an ignorant, self-inflated ego would assume only humans are entitled to the best kind of life.
Animal rights activists are trying to make this a better world for all forms of life, and respect for all life is the basic foundation. We do not judge non-humans as to whether they should live or die on the basis of how they serve our needs. That is assuming homo sapiens is the highest form of life, and that is not a fact.
