British women are campaigning against the government`s child-support act, which, beginning in April, requires mothers to claim financial support from their children`s absent fathers. The act, designed to save the government the equivalent of $700 million in welfare payments it makes when fathers don`t pay, will force mothers who receive support to name the fathers of their children, or be fined.
