Voters in Naples will have a chance to send another Mussolini to Rome in parliamentary elections April 5-6. The candidate is Alessandra Mussolini, 28, granddaughter of fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, who ruled Italy from 1922 to 1943. Alessandra, niece of Sophia Loren, is a medical student and actress. She will run on the neofascist Italian Social Movement ticket ”because it is the party that is closest to the ideals of my grandfather,” she says.
