In the Perspective article of Feb. 23 on Alan Dixon, it is noted that good old Al ”has spent 43 years of his 64 years in government service. . . .” This is too long for anyone to be slopping at the public trough. It is time that Dixon got a job.

One of Dixon`s rivals for his U.S. Senate seat has said that if elected, he would seek only one term beyond his initial elected term. This is a position of integrity rarely seen in politicians or candidates, and I would like to know where the other Dixon opponents stand regarding lifetime government employment.
