Regarding John Wade Clifford`s letter of Feb. 29, Joe Doherty may well be a ”good and brave man,” but he is also a convicted Irish Republican Army murderer. The only injustice committed by the U.S. government in this case was its nine-year judicial debate over Doherty`s request for political asylum.
If Irish-Americans were truly interested in promoting the ”American ideal of freedom and justice,” they would end their financial and moral support for immoral, pro-IRA organizations and activities.
