While Carol Moseley Braun seems to be the person of the hour, I am one person who is not that delighted. It is not because I was an avid supporter of one of her primary opponents, supported Clarence Thomas or think that women are not capable of doing any job. I do object to her on the fact that under her administration the recording fees in Chicago doubled as of Jan. 1, 1992. These fees will make it more costly for each homebuyer and person who wants to take advantage of lower interest rates to refinance their home.
If this is what happened while she served in a local office, I dread to think what will happen if she becomes one of the most powerful lawmakers in the land.
