The Board of Education of Barrington Unit District 220 has agreed to extend its foreign language offerings to 6th graders.
Under the plan, approved last week, 6th graders may choose from French, German, Russian, Spanish and Latin. The classes will be offered four or five days a week for about 20 minutes per session.
Previously, foreign languages were only open to high school students and those in 7th and 8th grade.
