If your New Year`s resolution to stop biting your nails has bitten the dust, here are some tips from nail consultant Elisa Ferri to get you back on track: 1. Treat dry, peeling cuticles with a medicated treatment.

2. Keep nails coated with clear polish at all times. Polish fortifies nails and seals in moisture. For the first two weeks, apply polish every other night and do not file.

3. After a few weeks, try a bright polish to show off your new nails.

4. Always carry two things: a nail buffer and clear polish. When a nail starts to tear, file the rough spot and smooth over with polish.
