As a lifelong resident of Illinois and a frequent user of the Chicagoland toll roads, I have a number of questions that I would like answered:
Just what is the Illinois Toll Highway Authority (ITHA)? Whom do these people answer to?
Why aren`t the revenues gathered by the ITHA made a matter of public record? How is it used? I sometimes spend $12 a week on these roads. I`m certain there are others who spend more! Considering the amount of traffic on these roads, there must be an awful lot of money involved.
Is there something in Illinois law that says that every year, without fail, the toll roads must undergo construction? Does the ITA have some sort of ”deal” with construction companies? Is there any sort of timetable as to when these roads will become free?
