Your editorial on the MCA`s new structure gives their Board of Trustees fair warning not to push to limit or change the public`s use of Lake Shore Park.

This elitist group, on the other hand, should surrender enough of their grab of taxpayers` property to accommodate another sorely needed tennis court. Lake Shore Park is a small island heavily used for recreation by residents of the wide surrounding area who do not enjoy the amenities of the country clubs of the MCA Board of Trustees.

It is ridiculous to put a sculpture garden on top of a parking garage abutting the tennis courts. More and better parking could be accommodated under the building itself. The water table would permit three floors of parking as done in Water Tower Place across the street. As the planners in their wisdom require an elevated sculpture garden, the roof of the museum itself would be ideal, and offer more security for the valuable art.

It`s time to send architect Kleihues back to the drawing board.
