I can`t see the point of the kosher pizza article. One which would have been read as a slice-of-life story lost its role as such because it lacked the compassion that usually accompanies such a story.

Instead, it ridiculed a small group of ultra-Orthodox Jews, embarrassing the Jewish community by depicting Israeli society in a grotesque way. To describe Israeli society through the B`nei B`rak`s ultra-Orthodox Jewish experience is akin to describing American society through the Amish experience.

The simple truth is that this community is struggling to preserve its faith and its integrity in a predominantly secular and modern society in Israel.
