– Highland Park 4-3, Wheeling 3-15-Richard Weiss and Jon Agay poked run-scoring singles to cap a three-run seventh-inning rally for Highland Park in Game 1 before Keith Lundstrom had three RBIs for Wheeling in Game 2.
– Loyola 27-8, St. Ignatius 4-0-Peter Patton led the Ramblers (12-6, 6-0 in the Catholic League) with three home runs, including two grand slams in the opener. Patton drove in 11 runs for the day. Mike Welch knocked in five runs and scored seven in the two games.
– Mt. Carmel 6-4, Brother Rice 5-9-Josh Baron struck out 10 for Mt. Carmel in Game 1. Mike Stritch (two hits) and Jason Sennell (two doubles) led Brother Rice in Game 2.

– Westmont 8-11, Evergreen Park 6-2-Mark Michelon smacked a homer as one of his three hits in Game 1. Jeff Todd had four hits with two homers and four RBIs as Westmont (14-5, 6-3) took a pair in the Southwest Suburban.

– Sandburg 19-14, Joliet West 0-4-Top-ranked Sandburg (16-3) got the sweep as ace Gina Ugo (11-0) pitched a one-hitter and struck out 12 in Game 1. Gayle Mullarkey had six hits and six RBIs on the day and Erin Marteno drove in three runs on five hits.
– Morton 9-4, Thornwood 7-10-Heather Tang had a two-run triple and Angela Porcelli had a run-scoring single to lift No. 2 Morton (19-1) in Game 1;
Michelle Zieger was 5 for 5 for No. 6 Thornwood (16-4) in Game 2.
– Oak Park 7-11, Downers South 4-8-No. 3 Oak Park banged 22 hits on the day

– Cedarburg (Wis.) tournament-Wendy Kite had a triple and two RBIs as New Trier beat Providence 6-4 for third place in the six-team two-day tournament. Earlier Courtney Cranfill and Melissa Siegel each had a double and two RBIs as New Trier beat Low Point-Washburn 6-2.

– Buffalo Grove 2, Stevenson 0-Laura Bermiglio and Megan McBride each scored, and Laura Sandt recorded her eighth shutout for Buffalo Grove (9-0-1).
– Carmel 3, Mother McAuley 2-Kristine Konen had two goals including the winner with 9 minutes left in the game as Carmel (6-3, 2-0 in the GCAC) handed No. 8 McAuley its first loss.
– Evanston Tournament-Evanston (7-1-5) and Oak Park (5-4-3) played to a 0-0 tie. Oak Park goalkeeper Amanda Toperoff stopped eight shots, while Heather Shaffer finished with four saves for her 10th shutout.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
– Willowbrook quadrangular-Despite missing four players in the first of three matches, Naperville North (8-9-1) rolled over Eisenhower, Willowbrook and York to finish first. Kevin Barnett led the way with 18 kills. Kevin Richardson added 12 kills and six blocks and Jaeson Brown finished with 20 assists.
