About 136 homes in a new subdivision in North Aurora will receive sanitary sewer service from Batavia under the terms of an intergovernmental agreement reached between the two Fox Valley communities.

The subdivision, which has yet to be named, will be built off of Hart Road, southeast of Batavia and northeast of North Aurora.

Although 50 acres of the project is within North Aurora`s boundaries, the entire development lies within Batavia`s sewer facilities planning area, according to Batavia City Engineer Ted Bergeson. The agreement was necessary to avoid a change in the area, he said.

The other 18 acres, or 36 lots, of the subdivision ultimately will be annexed to Batavia, according to a boundary agreement between the two municipalities.
