Trade Jordan.
There it is, in black and white. Billboards placed in view of Chicagoland expressways, offering a simple message in a not-so-simple 20-by-60-foot format.
The handiwork of Bulls General Manager Jerry Krause or a disgruntled Detroit Pistons fan?
Hardly.
The message was placed by the Upper Deck trading card company of Carlsbad, Calif., to help sell its inaugural basketball set.
”Give credit to our advertising agency,” said Jay McCracken, Upper Deck`s sales vice president. ”That`s all I can say.”
In a written statement, the company said, ”Upper Deck never does the expected. Watch what happens next.”
Probably suggestions of for whom Jordan should be traded.
Now, it`s just cards. Trading cards.
