– Loyola 7, Weber 0-Joe Neylan (6-1) scattered eight hits as Loyola clinched the Catholic League North. Bill McCarte had a pair of hits and RBIs.
– Holy Cross 8, Quigley 0-Brian Okrasinski pitched a two-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts to lead Holy Cross (16-8) to the win.
– Young 5, Westinghouse 4-Winning pitcher David Noll had a double and a triple at the plate while striking out 12 on the mound to power Young (8-5, 5-4) in the Northeast section. Sharmouri Dailey chipped in with three hits and two RBIs.
– Schurz 7, Kelvyn Park 6-Louie Perez executed a suicide squeeze in the sixth inning to tie the game and Joel Torres drove in the game-winner with a single for Schurz (20-9, 8-3) in the Public League Northwest.
– Deerfield 9, Glenbrook North 5-Jay Mansavage had three hits, a triple and three RBIs as Deerfield (17-6, 12-2) pounded out 13 hits in the Central Suburban League North.
– Round Lake 4, Johnsburg 3-Jeff Randle`s RBI-double in the fourth proved to be the game-winner for Round Lake (16-5, 11-2 in the Northwest Suburban).
– New Trier 5, Glenbrook South 3-Chad Berardi had three hits and Jim Roth added two hits and an RBI for New Trier (19-8, 8-6) in the Central Suburban South.
– Niles North 10, Maine West 0-Rafael Corrales fired his second one-hitter and shutout of the season for Niles North (17-13, 9-5) in the Central Suburban North. Ray Rocchi and Mike Bencal each drove in a pair of runs.
– Taft 10, Steinmetz 2-Jim Kelly (9-1) scattered five hits and fanned 12 as Taft (23-2, 12-0 in the Public League Northwest) continued to roll. Kelly also had three hits and an RBI.
– St. Laurence 11, St. Ignatius 6-Chris Koloffon`s grand slam was the big hit for St. Laurence (19-11, 11-5) in the Catholic League North.
– Maine South 6, Maine East 2-Danny Mikos broke open a scoreless tie with a two-run double in the fifth and then came on to get out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth and earn the save for Maine South (14-10, 11-3).
– Naperville Central 12, West Chicago 4-Top-ranked Naperville Central (27-1-1, 18-0 in the DuPage Valley) won its 17th straight as Aaron Pembroke had three hits and four RBIs and Mike Haverty added three hits and a double.
– Andrew 1, Lincoln-Way 0-A.J. Jones (8-0) had a no-hitter for five and two-thirds, settled for a one-hitter and drove in the game`s only run as No. 4 Andrew (22-4, 8-2) squeaked by in the SICA West.
– Thornwood 3, Bloom Trail 0-Steve Dunlop (7-0) fired a two-hit gem for Thornwood (25-4, 10-0) in the SICA East. Jason Huisman had two hits and an RBI to lead the offense.
– Sandburg 17, Stagg 4-No. 8 Sandburg (22-5, 9-1) clinched a tie in the SICA North behind the arm and bat of Todd Mensik (7-1). Mensik allowed four hits, struck out seven and pounded a three-run home run to lead the way. Dave Markusic and Joe Aikens each drove in three runs for Sandburg.
– Homewood-Flossmoor 7, Bolingbrook 0-Brad Lindberg tossed a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts for Homewood-Flossmoor (18-7). Lindberg also had two hits and an RBI. Jason Wallerstedt had a double, triple and two RBIs.
– Joliet West 3, Joliet Central 2-Derek Kinder (6-2) allowed two hits and struck out nine for Joliet West (16-11, 6-4 in the SICA West).
– Carver 13, Julian 7-Andre Harris had four hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs for Carver (14-7, 7-6 in the Public League Southeast).
SOFTBALL
– McHenry 16, Dundee-Crown 3-McHenry center-fielder Amber Cremeens stole two bases to give her 57 on the season and 147 in her three-year career, breaking the state record of 146 set by Ashley Struggles in 1990 during her four years at Mundelein. Cremeens, who is batting .540, is three steals from tying ex-Thornwood star Pam Palmore`s single season record of 60.

– Marshall 24, Flower 3-Carol Monroe (4 for 4) drove in eight runs with three home runs as Marshall (14-0) romped in the Red-West.
– Hersey 7, Schaumburg 0-Winning pitcher Natalie Quinn struck out 11 and helped herself with a two-run homer as Hersey (19-3, 16-0) stayed unbeaten in the Mid-Suburban.
– Johnsburg 12, Round Lake 9-Johnsburg (19-1, 13-1) rallied with four runs in the seventh and clinched the Northwest Suburban title. Jenny Shull (four RBIs), Wendy Whittlinger (two-run homer) and Shelly Brey (3 for 4, three RBIs) led the way.
– Young 18, Orr 1-Vaishaly Shelke and Elisa Roman drove in three runs apiece in the five-inning, Public League North Central breeze for Young (10-1).
– Lane 23, Kelvyn Park 2-Fran Dennewitz connected for two homers and drove in four runs in a Public League North matchup. Lane is 12-0.
– St. Ignatius 10, Bogan 0-Bridget Jordan`s one-hitter featured 11 strikeouts and Amy Marinacci scored four runs and drove home three others to lead St. Ignatius (12-10).
– Mather 13, Juarez 5-Mather (17-4) got big contributions from Neda Zabadneh
(4 for 4, three RBIs) and Mimi Blaquera (3 for 3, three RBIs).
– Sandburg 7, Stagg 0-No. 3 Sandburg (25-3, 9-1) stayed atop the SICA North behind Gina Ugo`s 15th shutout, a one-hitter. Ugo, now 18-0, struck out eight and walked one.
– Lockport 13, Romeoville 2-No. 4 Lockport (23-3, 10-0) clinched its ninth straight SICA West title as Tracy Hocutt (2 for 4, two RBIs) and Missy Porzel (2 for 2, two RBIs) keyed a offensive attack which featured seven extra-base hits.
– Elgin 9, Libertyville 1-Jamie Skerski (triple, two RBIs) and Kim Thaagaard
(2 for 3, RBI) kept No. 6 Elgin unbeaten in 25 games.
– Lake Zurich 9, Jacobs 4-Lake Zurich (19-3, 15-3) earned the Fox Valley win as Meg Heinrich tripled and drove in two runs.
– Glenbrook South 16, Maine South 11-Maureen Kleeman singled to drive in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning and Shawna Godzik (seven RBIs) hit her second homer later in the inning-a three-run shot-to lift Glenbrook South (10-6, 3-5).
– Waukegan 16, Antioch 8-Kelly Stancil hit two homers and knocked in seven runs for Waukegan.
