I am very disappointed that the Tribune chose not to report on the 12th Annual Illinois State Mathematics Contest Finals held at Illinois State University on April 25. At this contest, 2,000 of the brightest and very best mathematics students Illinois has to offer competed to see which schools and individuals were tops in the state.
For you to ignore this event at a time when President Bush has declared that he wants our country to be No. 1 in the area of mathematics causes me to wonder where your priorities are. I am sure you would never ignore the state finals in the area of athletics.
