– Driscoll Class A regional-Montini (17-10) got a strong pitching effort from Mike O`Connor (seven innings, three hits allowed, six strikeouts) while edging Immaculate Conception 2-0 . . . No. 7 Driscoll (27-2) pounded out a 19-2 victory over St. Benedict. Lou Leon (3 for 4, two triples, three RBIs), Mike Kamienski (2 for 3, double, triple, two RBIs) and winning pitcher John Mika (2 for 3, home run, three RBIs) led the hit parade for Driscoll . . . Ridgewood blew past Timothy Christian 10-1. Joe Zydlo and Bob Amelio each had a pair of hits and two RBIs for Ridgewood (26-4) . . . P.J. Novak`s two-run triple sparked Elmwood Park (19-10) to a 5-2 win over Quigley.

– Benet 2, Wheaton Central 0-Kate Enochs (20-6) twirled her third straight one-hitter and struck out 14 and Nicole Walker walloped a two-run sixth-inning homer for No. 9 Benet (21-6).
– Joliet Catholic 7, Lyons 0-Laura Markun threw a three-hit shutout to win it for Joliet (19-13) and teammate Sue North had two hits (a double and a homer) and two RBIs.
SOCCER
– Downers South 7, Downers North 0-Julie Wilde, Kathy Mitchell and Becky Blacharczyk had two goals each and goaltender Heather Miller bagged her 12th shutout to lift No. 3 Downers Grove South`s West Suburban Conference champions (15-0-3, 7-0-1).
