My husband is a small businessman who earns a living by servicing and filling vending machines, many of which are in the Loop.
I always accompany him on his Loop route in case we don`t find an open meter so that I can drive around the block while he does his job. He is 65 and I am 64 and our business is our livelihood.
If Mayor Daley bans parking permanently, he will be robbing people like us of making a living. Perhaps the ban could be during certain ”rush hours” rather than all day. We find it hard to believe it hasn`t hurt downtown business because our customers are all complaining.
