Once the calling card of candidates, laminated pins are now on a campaign for culture.

Museum and zoo gift shops are selling logo pins (about $1) that double as ad and fashion accessory. ”People collect them en masse and wear them on baseball caps, jean jackets or backpacks,” says Janet Smith, manager of the Museum of Contemporary Art`s gift store at 237 E. Ontario St. ”It`s like displaying ski patches to show what slopes you`ve visited.”
