The INC. column`s reaction to Patrick Mullaney moving from Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre to Hubbard Street Dance Company was unfortunate.
JHCDT`s artistic director, Randy Duncan, has created numerous wonderful works for Patrick`s artistry through the years. Chicago should be delighted they will be able to continue to enjoy his dancing for hopefully many more years.
To call Holmes and Hubbard Street ”rivals” defeats our common purpose in creating a strong, healthy dance field. We are colleagues, not competitors.
We salute the Holmes company and wish them many new, exciting dancers in their future.
