Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
It is a very bad idea that banks will stop selling U.S. Savings Bonds over the counter. It was very convenient for gift-giving to go to a bank and pick up a bond for a birthday, wedding, bar mitzvah or just for savings.
Now the bank says that as of June 1, you have to send away to get a bond and receive it in the mail.
This will discourage U.S. Bond giving and savings. I don`t understand the government`s thinking. It should encourage more savings, not less.
