Lawrence A. Thoennes, 83, of the Northwest Side, died Saturday at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. A native of Kansas City, Mo., Dr. Thoennes moved to Chicago in 1941. For 29 years he was director of reserch for Kendall Co. He is survived by his wife, Augusta; four daughters, Sister Virginia, Lorraine, Martha Eicker and Mary Welk; two sons, Charles and Richard; a sister; 27 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be private. A funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Church, 7200 W. Talcott Ave.
