Thomas R. ”Bob” Sweeney, 66, a retired Chicago police officer, died Friday in Brentwood Nursing Home, Burbank. Mr. Sweeney had worked for the Chicago Police Department as a youth officer and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of the St. Jude Police League and the Police Post of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Maureen A. Bowers and Arlene M. Finlayson; seven brothers and sisters; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in Kenny Brothers Funeral Home, 3600 W. 95th St. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Linus Roman Catholic Church, 10300 S. Lawler Ave., Oak Lawn.
