I believe the problem of fundamentalists like Bob Jones IV and his followers is in their thinking processes and not in their thick-skinned, martyrdom-like-Jesus attitude.
When he states that ”a 2,000-year-old book contains the absolute truth of God” and then interprets every facet of life from it, he begs the question. And he shouldn`t be too surprised if, in this, our more enlightened age, his followers are ridiculed.
Mr. Jones, your God is too small and too small-minded. Mankind is not basically evil as you contend.
What is basically evil is the idea that anyone or any group has the answer to the ”one God” and if disagreement comes, one is un-Christian or an infidel. On the issue of ”what is,” we are all still wandering out in the desert-but it is a desert filled with stars.
