Mary C. Thorn, 78, a former teacher, died Saturday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove. Mrs. Thorn, a longtime resident of Downers Grove, had taught English in Michigan and was a literacy volunteer. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main St., Downers Grove. Mrs. Thorn is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Craig; and a grandson. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the First Congregational Church, 1047 Curtiss St., Downers Grove.
