The defeat of the Lake Calumet Airport and the current anemic economy shows that the Republican Party of Illinois should change its name to the No Growth-No Jobs Party.
Citizens from the entire region work in jobs created at O`Hare Airport or by industries and companies that must locate near air transportation. The Lake Calumet Airport was not being built for us; it would have been years before it came on line. It would have created jobs for our children and grandchildren.
We need jobs and a strong economy in our region and it requires an act of will and courage.
