Ellen T. Baird becomes dean of the College of Architecture, Art and Urban Planning at the University of Illinois at Chicago Aug. 21, overseeing 88 full- time faculty members and more than 1,500 students. Baird, 48, is one of three women deans among the 15 colleges at the university.
