Joy Smith, 52, a former secretary for the Big 10 Athletic Conference, died Monday in her Lake Zurich home. She also once worked as a personnel secretary for the Green Bay Packers professional football team. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Herman W.; a son, Douglas; a daughter, Jennifer Ann; her parents, Ellsworth E. and Charolette Mutchler; and a sister. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
