Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I just wanted to bring your attention to a few inaccuracies in the July 5 story on Rantoul:

1) Chanting has never been a part of the Transcendental Meditation technique;

2) Meditation itself takes only 20 minutes twice a day; the TM-sidhi program takes an hour or more twice a day;

3) Some TM meditators are vegetarian, but many are not;

4) I`m not sure what you mean when you say Maharishi International University is ”nationally accredited in Iowa but nowhere else.” Because it is nationally accredited, graduates of MIU can be and regularly are accepted at dozens of the best graduate schools around the country. And they do very well.

5) The ”instructors” (mostly professors with Ph.D.s) who have doctorates start at $250/week, not $50/week.
