John Kollmeyer, 74, an employee of Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 40 years, died Wednesday in Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Mr. Kollmeyer, a resident of Oak Brook, was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Army and Army Reserves for 22 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He was a manager for Illinois Bell in Oak Brook. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Grace; two daughters, Barbara Carlson and Mary Leppert; a son, Robert; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Elliston Funeral Home, Grant and 1st Streets, Hinsdale. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady`s Catholic Chapel, Mayslake Village, 1801 35th St., Oak Brook.
