Rev. Jesse Jackson, in his speech to the Democratic Convention, called Dan Quayle the ”Herod” of his time.

Two observations: 1) Having termed the vice president a ”Herod” before millions of television viewers, we assume the Democrats will not whine about

”negative campaigning” if the opposition descends to similar depths of invective; 2) Herod murdered innocent infants. Had Rev. Jackson read his party`s platform? Did he hear the convention delegates applaud the pro-abortion statements of the Democratic governor of Texas? Did he know that the convention`s managers had denied the anti-abortion Democratic governor of Pennsylvania the chance to state his case?

Herods abound this political season. But Dan Quayle isn`t one of them. Rev. Jackson should look closer to home.
