Make-believe Olympians will be carrying the torch, donning togas and learning about ancient Greeks during Kohl Children`s Museum`s six-day Olympics celebration this week.

The week of activities was organized to teach children about the origins of the Olympics. On Tuesday, children will be making Olympic torches and medals. Wednesday, ancient Greek architecture will be designed using available recycled materials.

Thursday, children will be invited to join a play about the Greek myth of Atalanta and Hippomenes. On Friday, the St. Andrew`s Greek Orthodox Church teen dance troupe will entertain.

On Saturday, children will learn about the Greek god Apollo and make their own mini-chariots. Sunday, children will don togas and wreaths and join in an Olympic procession.

The activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The museum is at 165 Green Bay Rd., Wilmette.
