It was with great sadness that I read your July 14 article in regards to Animal Control Officers forcing the residents of Dearborn Homes to give them their pets-who would be facing certain death.
These people live in deplorable conditions; their life can be snuffed out in a moment of time from a stray gang bullet. Why, then, did they have to give up their beloved pets? This is really all these unfortunate children have, and they suffered saying good-bye to their animals. Who made this terrible decision?
Animal Control and HUD have to answer to many outraged animal lovers who have read this tragic story.
