James E. Van Ella, 52, the chairman and chief executive officer of James E. Van Ella & Associates Inc., a Chicago-based international security consulting firm, died Saturday in Lake Forest Hospital. Mr. Van Ella, a former Chicago resident who moved to Lake Forest seven years ago, founded the firm in 1969. He previously worked for the Cook County Sheriff`s Police. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; two daughters, Aleen and Erica; a son, Andrew;
his parents, Eugene and Gertrude Vanella; a sister and two brothers. Services were held Tuesday.
