Donald Kuratko, 74, founder and owner of Kuratko Funeral Home, died Sunday at his North Riverside home. Mr. Kuratko, a Berwyn native, founded the funeral home in 1947 and has been a licensed funeral home director for more than 50 years. He is a member of the Illinois Funeral Directors` Association and was first commander of the Riverside-North Riverside VFW Post No. 6869. He also was a former civil service commissioner for the North Riverside Police and Fire Departments. Mr. Kuratko is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Kenneth and Donald; and five grandchildren. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 2500 S. Des Plaines Ave., followed by a 10 a.m. mass at St. Mary Church, 97 Herrick Rd., Riverside. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
