Los Angeles Rams trainers may have saved the life of a 13-year-old girl who collapsed near the team`s practice field Monday morning.

The Huntington Beach resident, whose identity has not been revealed at the request of her parents, collasped while running sprints at a sports camp near the team`s training field at Cal-Irvine. A camp instructor yelled at a Rams ball boy, who notified trainers Jim Anderson and Blynn DeNiro.

”I heard the scream and I saw our trainers take off,” Rams coach Chuck Knox said.

When the trainers arrived, the girl was unconscious, Anderson said. They performed CPR until paramedics arrived 10 minutes later.

The girl was taken to the Irvine Medical Center, where she is listed in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit.

An attending physician said Anderson and DeNiro probably saved the girl`s life.

”When something like that happens, it makes all this other stuff look insignificant and trivial,” Knox said.
