Blanche E. Brefeld, 82, of Libertyville, a former church soloist and society editor for a local newspaper, died Monday in Lake Bluff Health Care Centre. A former student at the Chicago Conservatory of Music, she was a soloist at the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville. In the 1940s, she was employed as society editor for the now defunct Independent Register newspaper in Libertyville. She is survived by her husband, Walter; a daughter, Kimberly Ayoub; two sons, Anthony and Terrence; two sisters; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph`s Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville.
