Geraldine R. Kramer, 77, the first diaconal minister for the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, died Monday in La Grange Memorial Hospital. A 40-year resident of Western Springs, she founded the Christian Educators Fellowship of Northern Illinois, which trains ministers in Christian education, and was a volunteer chaplain at La Grange Memorial. Survivors include a daughter, Mitzi Holmes; a son, Richard; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Merker Funeral Home, 518 Hillgrove Ave., Western Springs. Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church, 4300 S. Howard Ave., Western Springs.
