It is highly anomalous for the Tribune, which worships at the altar of free enterprise, to run a front-page, three-part series critical of ticket scalping.
Scalping, brokering and reselling in pursuit of profit are the norms in this country whether for stocks and bonds, real estate, wheat, pork bellies, oil or baseball cards. Why should it be any different for tickets?
There is serious pain in the country from failure of the free market to adequately provide citizens with jobs, health care and housing. This does not deter the Tribune from continuing to advocate free enterprise strategies and to resist government intervention in dealing with these issues.
