If you`re going to be rubbing elbows with people you care about, you`d better take a look and see if you`ve been neglecting them (your elbows, that is) too long. If things don`t look so good, follow these tips from Cindy Melk, vice president and creative director of H20 Plus stores:

– Start by really looking at your elbows (everyone else has been). If you`re conscious of them, you`ll take care of them.

– Use an exfoliating product to massage away dead skin cells. Apply either by hand or on a loofah mit or washcloth.

– Moisturize. Most likely moisturizers have not been able to penetrate through the dry, rough bumpy skin. Always moisturize after exfoliating. (Note: Dr. Kevin Pinski, a Chicago dermatologist, assures there will visible results after moisturizing just one time.)

– If you`ve tried everything and your elbows are chronically ”stained,” cut a lemon in half and rub it on your elbows. The lemon acts as a natural bleach and should lighten the skin after a week or two.
