In the article, ”Libraries` crystal ball clouded by state cuts” (July 16), it is stated that the Chicago Library System serves the city`s main library downtown and 80 neighborhood branches.

In addition to the Chicago Public Library, the Chicago Library System serves 49 academic libraries in colleges, universities and professional schools; 77 high school and 409 elementary school libraries; and 223 special libraries in hospitals, government agencies, corporations, law firms, museums, publishing houses, trade and professional associations, civic organizations, etc.
